Vintage Monophone Black

Vintage Automatic Electric Monophone rotary telephone in black Bakelite, dating to approximately the 1930s–1940s. Made in Chicago by Automatic Electric, an important early American telephone manufacturer and competitor to the Bell System. Features a substantial sculptural Bakelite body, original rotary dial and handset, and a wonderful period “Davis 4016” number card still in place. The underside retains its original Automatic Electric Monophone patent label. Shows age-related surface wear and patina appropriate to an early telephone. Line cord has splits; phone is untested and sold as a decorative collectible or restoration piece.
